NHL Draft 2024: New Beginnings and Historic Picks



The 62nd NHL Entry Draft took place in the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28-29, 2024. This year's event marked a historic shift in the league, with the newly established Utah Hockey Club making its debut after acquiring the draft rights of the deactivated Arizona Coyotes.


Sharks Make History with Top Pick

For the first time in franchise history, the San Jose Sharks held the coveted first overall pick. They chose Macklin Celebrini, a highly anticipated talent, to lead their future. Celebrini's selection signals a new era for the Sharks, who are looking to rebuild and strengthen their roster.


Top Three Picks: Future Stars Emerge

The Chicago Blackhawks followed by selecting Artyom Levshunov, adding a promising player to their lineup. Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducks rounded out the top three by picking Beckett Sennecke, a move that fans hope will bring renewed energy and success to the team.


Utah Hockey Club's First Steps

The draft was particularly significant for the Utah Hockey Club, marking its first appearance on the NHL stage. With the draft rights from the Coyotes, the club is set to build a competitive team from the ground up, bringing fresh excitement to the league and its fans.
